Mammon, Mountains and Donations

It is written:

“No one can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and mammon.”

But look at how we try. My God, do we try.

Let it be known that anything I ever post here is never written from “up high,” as if “speaking” down my nose, for I would be unworthy of such an endeavor. I am not a good person, but I continue to mold myself in the shape of that Good Person and with faith, I hope that the Work will someday be complete.

While I have stood victorious at the peak of a few mountains and left them behind in my path after shaking the dust from my feet, there are still more mountains ahead, and so onward I walk. How many more lay ahead? I do not know, for the view is concealed by the mountain that is before me, and each mountain is higher than the last.

Why not just sit down, quit walking, and build a “life” for myself here? I have tried that way, but it wasn’t for me, and I discovered it to be illusory in nature. This place, though a shadow of pleasure it can be, is not my destination. If I am to ever arrive there, I must keep moving towards it.

If anyone would like to give me their money for the work I attempt to do, you can do so by clicking here.

lol

The above sentence was just for fun. I don’t want your money, but if you feel inclined to give, by all means, go and give to those who are needier than us! Smile, my friends, and let your every moment be blessed. 🙂

Mirrored qualities

As for oppression, persecution, and the like; remember:

One person’s blessin’

Brings another’s lesson.

“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil about you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the Prophets who were before you.”

sanative
san·a·tive
ˈsanətiv/
adjective
archaic

  1. conducive to physical or spiritual health and well-being; healing.

If you will, set aside a period of time so that you may exercise both body and spirit together as one with humility and genuine seeking. Mysteries may be revealed.

If true, you may have gained something unspeakably beautiful, for no words may describe it.

If false, you will have lost only a period of time, but if you were obedient for your period of time, you will have still gained better health and a stronger will for your next challenge.

Harvest reaping; a fallen affair

There was an ambitious farmer who once planted a very large crop of his favorite fruit. He hired workers to help him with all the labors of planting and maintaining the crop. However, some of them insisted on payment before the work was complete so that they might celebrate the pre-Harvest in their own way. The farmer agreed, and the season ensued, productively.

Though at Harvest Day, only a few of the farmers most dependable workers showed up for the reaping. This greatly troubled the farmer for the fields were abundant with ripe fruit, but the workers were so few. He said to those few workers who did show up, “Today is the Harvest! Where are the rest who agreed to help me?”

“Master, they have stolen your wages. They decided upon completion of last labor day before the Harvest that they would not return since they already had their pay, and they attempted to persuade us to join them. They celebrated themselves and their idols all night last night outside the temple walls; we suspect they sleep still from their drunkenness.”

“Yet you are here.” he said, looking them each in the eye. “Well done, my good and faithful servants.”

“What of the Harvest, Master?”

“Gather only that of the most outstanding quality.”

“And the rest?” they asked.

“Gather all the good seeds you can for next Harvest. Leave the flesh to rot into the ground as fertilizer and food for the worms.”

“And what of those who promised to work for you, but gave in to their own greed and thievery?”

The farmer looked down at the ground for a few seconds.
“I’ll accept their repentance,” he said, looking up, “but if they want to work for me again, I’ll certainly put them to the test.”

Sheeple

The wolf, disguised in sheep’s clothing, creeps up ever so slowly and softly on the lost flock of sheep. When he attacks, the sheep will not be able to fathom how it happened.

They will cry out: “He was one of us and lived among us, but he was false. He was the enemy all along but we did not see the deception for we are just poor sheep with no shepherd.”

Grinning sadistically, the wolf will say to them: “To whom do you speak? You had a shepherd and a flock, but with great persuasion, I tempted you off of the path that your shepherd was leading you; poor animals. Thus, I have separated you from your flock and your shepherd. Now, let me quickly devour you before that good shepherd comes looking to find you.”

More is never enough

There are those  who live among us who are driven and motivated to succeed in the gaining of material wealth and their numbers are not small; no pun intended. Yet, a common theme that can be easily observed among the masses is this: more is never enough.

Why is this celebrated by society instead of treated as an illness?

Have we become so poisoned that the one who points this out becomes the lunatic?

This is the mentality that is planting next season’s harvest; what fruits will it yield?

More is never enough

Poetry from a Parent

If God wrote poetry, what do you think it would say?

Another fine gem found in unlikely places. I love it. And, I’ll keep it.

Peace.

Ashes to Ashes
by Faith No More

I want them to know it’s me
It’s on my head
I’ll point the finger at me
It’s on my head

Give it all to you
Then I’ll be closer

Smiling with the mouth of the ocean
And I’ll wave to you with the arms of the mountain
I’ll see you

I will let you shout no more
It’s on my head
I’ll pick you up from the floor
It’s on my head
I’ll let you even the score It’s on my head

Give it all to you
Then I’ll be closer

Smiling with the mouth of the ocean
And I’ll wave to you with the arms of the mountain
I’ll see you

Give the same to me then I’ll be closer, closer
Give the same to me then I’ll be closer, closer

Smiling with the mouth of the ocean
And I’ll wave to you with the arms of the mountain

Give the same to me then I’ll be closer
